Lesson 1559- Life lessons I want my kids to know

Many years ago, I had a boyfriend who, although nice, I wasn’t sure we were clicking. I second-guessed myself by thinking I just needed to give the relationship more time and things would eventually work themselves out. Right?

One day I was in the bathroom putting on some makeup. One of my cats pushed open the door a crack and entered. She leaned up against my leg and started meowing a friendly greeting to me.

“Oh, hi friend,” I cooed. “What a pretty kitty.” I stopped what I was doing to give her a quick little rub on her ears.

A few minutes later, my boyfriend barged into the bathroom to get something he needed.

I was livid. “Could you please wait until I’m done?” I snapped in a clearly exasperated voice. Geesh.

It was at the very moment I knew – if I was more patient with my cat than I was with my boyfriend that things were not going to work out.

I broke up with him soon after that realization.

Lesson learned – pay attention to your actions. If what you do does not match what you feel, then you’ve got a problem.
