Okay, you all know the joke about the chicken crossing the road, but here’s a new one.

Question: How high can a chicken jump?

Answer: As high as the lowest berries.

  1. Our county fair (which starts tomorrow) has an event called “Chicken Olympics.” I can’t enter your hen solely on the basis of such a blurry picture. Not only that, I have no way of knowing that your hen is not taking performance enhancing drugs (such as Mexican jumping beans). Also, my wife is not interested in going to the Chicken Olympics. I fear that she is distracted by her newest enthusiasm, raising earth worms. I am not supposed to sneak some of the worms to the chickens. In any case, until she starts giving each individual worm a name (and can tell them apart), I think the worms are fair game for the hens. So to speak.
